Animinimal is a graphic designer, photographer, musician, and digital artist from South Wales.
For well over a decade he has explored various creative outlets either as a hobby or a freelance designer working on branding and app design.His first thoughts when it comes to design are: Is it cute, is it fun?
Bright colours, quirky characters, and silly puns are some of his favourite things to work with.
Inspired by products from Alessi, designers like Marc Newson and Phillippe Starck, and the "kawaii" style from Japan, Animinimal aims to blend minimal forms with vibrant tones and fun, friendly, and inviting features.Despite being surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Welsh countryside he prefers to zoom in and get up close; exploring shapes, textures, and the interplay of light and shadow under the gaze of a macro lens. Look up at the sky, see the clouds, the ever shifting hues, or look down to the ground, the folds and textures of a leaf, an ant on a journey; there is beauty everywhere and Animinimal hunts it down with his trusty camera. The greatest joy is letting the hunt for photographic subjects take you to unexpected places and seeing what you would normally overlook.Musically Animinimal enjoys a wide range of sounds. Though no virtuoso he enjoys playing any instrument he can get his hands on and exploring different styles with whatever tools are available; Simple stripped back acoustic songs, DIY lo-fi metal recorded in a bedroom, ambient soundscapes, and imaginary soundtracks inspired by the 16-bit video games of his youth.Curious?
